Project Description

The Stephen S. Clark Commons, located on the third floor of the Shapiro Library, has undergone a complete transformation, resulting in 37,500 square feet of new and improved space. The area offers open sight lines, enhanced natural lighting, and zoned areas equipped with whiteboards, mounted screens, and computer stations. Its flexible furnishings can accommodate a variety of work styles, including consultative, collaborative, group work, and independent study. The Clark Commons boasts seating for over 200 students, with communal and quiet study options. Additionally, visitors can access the digital scholarship hub for help with research data, metadata, visualization, research impact, copyright, open access, and publishing by appointment. There is also a designated space for student programming and exhibits.
