Project Description
In 2005, DeMaria was hired by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in a design/build contract to construct the new Wylie Outpatient Clinic in Columbus, OH. The new four-story facility opened in the summer of 2008.
The freestanding addition features space for an outpatient psych unit, prosthetics, dialysis, eye exam, dentistry, cardiology, surgery, geriatrics, primary care examination and general administrative areas.
Highlights Include:
Cantilevered section with 27 steel plate girders weighing up to 28,000 lbs/ea 72” in height, 32’ to 64’ in length
Inverted skylight over main lobby and corridor
Design allows for a future vertical expansion for in-patient care
