Project Description

DeMaria was hired by Oakland University for the Academic Laboratory Project – Phase 2. This project included the renovation of eleven academic and research laboratory spaces in two buildings for the College of Arts and Sciences. The buildings were occupied and classes remained in session during construction. The project required a lot of coordination with the OU staff to minimize disruptions to classes and ensure the safety of students and staff.  The renovation involved the demolition of the existing 20 fume hoods and waste piping that could have contained hazardous materials.  DeMaria installed 16 new fume hoods, flooring, plumbing, I.T. pathways, alarms, and controls. Highlights included: 2 new Physics Labs 4 new Biology Labs 5 new Chemistry Labs.
