Last month, DeMaria was recognized as a quality partner at the DTE Energy AAR (After Action Review) and Celebration of Success with DTE’s senior leadership. Over 30 past and present DTE and DeMaria team members were in attendance to celebrate the completion of the final phase of the five-year embankment stabilization program at DTE Energy in Monroe, MI. This completes the embankment stabilization work that began from the Global Stability Report issued after the Tennessee Valley Authority Kingston basin collapse in 2008.
DeMaria completed four out of five phases of this project, and has reconstructed various sections of the embankment and completed all associated work each year. The project was completed within the original budget, schedule , and with zero recordable incidents. Major Environmental issues were avoided during construction by the team regarding slope instability and slope failure.
At the AAR, DTE complimented DeMaria for their management and onsite construction team, which included Jack Keelan, Project Superintendent, and the onsite Quality Control Manager for all four years. DTE also gave positive feedback regarding DeMaria’ s willingness to accept DTE’s quality program and their development of the program each year.
