Compressor Building Improvements, Consumers Energy
Consumers Energy recently hired DeMaria to lead the replacement of underground high pressure gas lines (2,000 PSI) at their Northville Compressor Building. Using a hydro-excavation technique to unearth the gas lines, DeMaria carefully supported each line until replaced and buried again.
Safety was extremely important. Cell phones, pagers, cameras - anything that could ignite a spark and subsequently set off an explosion, were prohibited from the site. Heavy machinery, if traveling in the wrong area, could damage underground gas lines. Rerouting roads required careful coordination.
