Flow
Equalization Basin, South Huron Valley Utility Authority, Brownstown
Twp., Michigan Eight downriver communities in southeast Michigan came
together via the South Huron Valley Utility Authority to fund construction
of a new, six million gallon capacity, below grade Flow Equalization
Basin. The site featured rough terrain that
required DeMaria to clear 24 acres in order to excavate and form
the foundation of the basin. Poured-in-place concrete created and
encapsulated twelve individual cells. Schedule intensive, it could have easily escalated
out of control and jeopardized the budget. However, DeMaria developed
an organized system for the precise delivery of materials and pouring
of concrete. Additionally, DeMaria's self-perform skilled trades
assisted by pouring over 15,000 cubic yards of structural concrete
worth over $4,000,000. |
